This is a tentative plan of activities for the Bar Mizwah weekend. According to the people who have confirmed up to date (06.02.05) I have changed a bit the programm . Please let me know ASAP if you want to take part as I have to arrange for  transportation and guides etc. by sending us a mail at Friends wishes or contact us form.

Thursday                                                                                                                                                                         

9:30  Bus sight seeing tour, Knesset, High Courts, Montefiores quarters, mt. Scopus,  HIgh Court.

14.00 .Visit to  the different quarters of the City of Jerusalem, the old Knesset building. Lunch downtown  

17.30   If we have time,  and for whom this is relevant, it is Purim, reading of the Megillat Esther at the community in Mevaseret

Alternatively  for the sporty ones and if the weather permits, a bycicle tour in the region of Latrun, including historical sites and nice views. The duration is around 3 hours, not a thriathlon but really fun. Later visit to Mini Israel which is very close.

19.00 Dinner in Abu Gosh

Friday

10.00   Israel Museum, the Shrine of the Book.  www.imj.org.il . Do not miss the Childrens Wing. We'll take a small snack at the museum cafeteria and you can also visit its very nice gift shop 

14:00  Judean Mountains Hike in the Sataf.
            Bring walking shoes, hat and great spirits. 
           The walk will take approximately 2 hours.

17:30 Join us for Kabbalat Shabbat at the reform synagogue.

Evening: Dinner at our home. 

Saturday
Morning: I suggest you visit the Old City   For the very adventuruos you have to get up early 8:00 leave for a Dead Sea Spa and give yourself a treat. You should come back by 12:00. in order to make it on time for the bar mizwah.

Visit to the village of Ein Karem with its deep Christian roots (Saint John was born there)

17:30       Join us for Joel's reading of the Torah.

19:30      Kiddush  followed by dinner.

Sunday
9:30      Day trip to the South.  . A bus will take us for a day trip into the  desert.

We leave by bus to the Judean Desert. A two hour trip by Jeep, Lunch in a Beduin tent and later driving to the shores of the Dead Sea where you can enjoy a mud bath.Cost including transportation, entrance fee, jeep trip and lunch will be maximum 285 NIS that is today 51 Euro or 80 SFr. or 66.5 dollars

Monday                                                                                                                                                                                                                          9.00  Day trip to Massada, Ein Gedi and the Dead Sea, where you can relax getting a massage with mud.

Tuesday                                                                                                                                                                                                                               10.00   Visit to the new  Yad Vashem (For information in German check here.)
